Becoming a laser tag pro takes patience and practice. Several strategies and tactics can certainly help you win your laser tag games and become a pro, little by little.
Here are the best strategies you can adopt to put the odds in your favor when playing laser tag.
WEAR DARK CLOTHING
Since laser tag is played in a dark, dimly lit room, dark clothing, such as black or navy blue, tends to blend in better and act as camouflage. On the other hand, white or light-colored clothing attracts the eye more easily and is more likely to be spotted.
So wearing dark clothes gives you an edge. It will be harder for your opponents to distinguish you in the dark, and therefore less easy for them to hit you.
SCOUT OUT THE ARENA
When you first enter the laser tag arena, getting to know your surroundings is essential. Stroll around and look for lights, hiding places, high observatories, staircases or anything else that might give you an advantage over your enemies when it’s time to shoot.
STAY IN MOTION
It’s natural to be tempted to stay put once you’ve found the perfect hiding place. Unfortunately, this is not the way to win a game of laser tag. In fact, it’s a good idea to always be on the move, for two reasons.
The first is that it gives you more opportunities to shoot and hit your enemies when you come across them. The second reason is that a moving target is less easy to hit than a stationary one.
WORK IN A TEAM
If you’re playing laser tag as part of a team, talk to your team-mates before you start to work out a strategy. When playing as a team, you can split up into smaller teams to better cover the territory, but also with one or two teammates to defend you if you’re discovered by the enemy.
You can also protect other team members from ambush by eliminating enemies. The right strategy will help your team win the game.
STAY CROUCHED
In a game of laser tag, it’s important to stay crouched as often as possible. By hiding behind a wall or in a corner, you’re less visible to the enemy and less likely to get hit. On the contrary, if you stand in the middle of the arena, you become an easy target for your opponents.
SHOOT!
Finally, of course, the best tactic for securing a laser tag victory is to shoot your enemies. By touching them, you collect points and improve your ranking. At every opportunity, shoot your enemy as often as possible, aiming at the sensors on his jacket.
