There’s no denying it: year after year, record-breaking rains come and go. As a result, weekends and vacations often fall through. No pun intended.

To help you keep some indoor activities on hand as Plan B when the sun isn’t shining, we’ve come up with a few fun addresses for young and old alike.

Downtown Montreal is brimming with activities of all kinds, some of which you’ve probably heard of, but others, like fluorescent mini-golf, that you may not have heard of.

Remember, though, that the best place to go is BoulZeye (of course!!), where you’ll find everything you need in one place:

  • 16 bowling lanes, including 4 private lanes;
  • A 6,000-square-foot laser tag arena on 2 floors;
  • Arcades and doggie machines;
  • 4 awesome escape rooms.

And don’t forget the BoulZeye Resto-pub, where you can fill up on all-day fun.

1. FLUORESCENT MINI-GOLF IN THE DARK!

We already love outdoor mini-golf, which is always fun for the whole family. Imagine a fluorescent environment reminiscent of the magic of Avatar. That’s what the Putting Edge concept offers its participants. Great for the family, but also for parties and groups.

2. FREE SKATING ALL YEAR ROUND

At the Atrium Le 1000 skating rink, there’s music all year round and you can skate under the light diffused by the glass dome. You can access the online ticketing service to check rates and schedules, and to reserve skates.

3. ISAUTE, FOR KIDS (AND ADULTS) WITH ENERGY TO SPARE

Trampolines as far as the eye can see and fun for hyperactive people of all ages – that’s what the iSaute environment is all about.

This type of environment, created specifically for children, just like at BoulZeye, is designed to energize the imagination of youngsters, letting them spend their energy laughing out loud and making their days memorable.

They can climb, play dodgeball, run ninja courses and more.

4. THE TAZ SKATEPARK FOR THE FEARLESS

Montreal’s Taz Skatepark offers youngsters of all ages (from 3 upwards) the chance to take their first steps in the arena. Of course, toddlers only have access to the roulodôme, and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

In the skatepark, youngsters can practice with a scooter, skates, skateboard or BMX. It goes without saying that this is not a bowling alley or a trip to the movies. The risks are present, a waiver must be signed and protection is required. Helmets, elbow pads and knee pads are essential.

5. SWIM, SWIM, SWIM, LITTLE FROG

Have you thought about the local pool? If you’re planning an activity over the vacations or the coming weekend, check the pool’s open swim schedule. That way, you’ll be able to take a dip, swim a few laps and play a game of Marco Polo at the local pool.

If this game doesn’t appeal to you, consider having speed contests by timing people swimming, bringing a hoop and taking turns throwing balls at the center… get creative! This is one of the best activities to do indoors.

6. LET’S CLIMB TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!

Horizon Roc is a climbing center in Montreal that’s fun for young and old alike, but the activity can be very short. It’s up to you to decide whether it’s worth the trip. There’s something for every level, and they also have a speed wall and an aerial course with a 25-meter zip line.

This activity is just as much fun with the family as it is with friends or colleagues, in small or larger groups. The best way to discover it is to take the trial + acro-park combo, which lets you discover climbing while trying out the aerial course.

7. KARTING AND INDOOR PAINTBALL IN MONTREAL

Who hasn’t dreamed of taking part in a karting or paintball circuit? Chances are, even Mom would follow right behind. But Action 500 makes sure you’re safely accompanied, because these activities are risky. Caution is the order of the day.

Keep in mind, however, that children must be at least 4 feet tall to use the go-karts, and that paintball is for ages 10 and up. If you’re planning an outing with friends, or if no children are coming, it’s definitely time to give it a try.

8. THE MONTREAL SCIENCE CENTER

On a rainy day, you don’t have to be a science buff to visit the Montréal Science Centre. There are plenty of activities on offer, and young and old alike will no doubt be surprised to find much more than they bargained for.

9. THE BEST OF THE BEST… IT’S ALWAYS YOUR BOULZEYE!

BoulZeye’s strength is undoubtedly our capacity to accommodate, thanks to our multiple offerings and tailor-made packages.

If you haven’t already experienced it, you’ll find that it’s rare to see such ample on-site parking in Montreal (and it’s free!), as well as the ability to accommodate groups of all sizes and in all types of packages, with or without meals.

  • Children’s parties
  • Corporate groups
  • Team-building events
  • Receptions of all kinds
  • School groups
  • Charity events

In addition, the multitude of activities on offer accommodates all age groups. From bowling alleys (some of which are private) to laser tag, escape games and arcades, there’s something for everyone.

What’s more, we make sure to surprise you with new activities on a regular basis. At Resto-pub BoulZeye, we’ve added tributes to your favorite bands like the Cranberries, Green Day, Jean Leloup and more to our theme nights.

Stretch out the days of pleasure by sipping a beer and enjoying our delicious menu to savor as a duo or a group.
