Our advantages

Comparison between BoulZeye and Laser Quest Montreal

The BoulZeye is an ultra modern entertainment center with many attractions of the highest quality. Our laser tag game differs in several ways from what Laser Quest has to offer.

We have the latest version of jackets by Lasertron (Fall 2013). The jackets are very bright thanks to the LED lights embedded in the jacket and the phaser which offers a clear view of other players. Each jacket has integrated speakers so you can clearly hear the instructions in FRENCH throughout the game. Laser Quest jackets are dimly lit and have no speakers. The only instructions given in the Laser Quest arena are at the beginning and the end of the game.

The Arena

The Laser Quest arena is a labyrinth of plywood and was painted nearly 20 years ago. The biggest disadvantage of a labyrinth arena is that players have very few strategy options (moving forward or backward), so many spend the entire game in a corner and that’s not very exciting. Plywood maze arenas like Laser Quest’s, in addition to offering little visibility (going long minutes looking for someone), often causes severe and dangerous collisions when turning a corner or when a player is caught between two opponents. Finally, several players have had splinters from brushing against the plywood panel corners.

At BoulZeye, our arena, unlike Laser Quest’s, is covered with a quality carpet, cleaned weekly. The acoustics are incredible and the comfort is so great that women take off their shoes to play in their socks.

The BoulZeye offers a bar, billiard, and a superb reception hall; many customers decide to play laser tag at the last minute seeing the beauty of the place. Our freshly decorated arena inspired by space and planets is filled with a multitude of circular semi-rigid plastic obstacles.

Facing an obstacle, a player has five (5) possible strategies (moving forward bypassing an obstacle, moving left, right, back, or staying immobile to trap the opponent). These alternatives make it a more exciting and dynamic game because nobody has to spend long minutes waiting to see another player. The obstacles are not likely to give you splinters and since they don’t obstruct your view as much as plywood panels, collisions are not as frequent.

Game selection

Laser Quest only offers one game option: individually or as a team with an unlimited number of shots.

At Boulzeye, we offer this game option too, but in addition we provide games with bases to defend and attack, options for additional features such as spy mode, the machine gun mode, the energizing mode, etc. During our unlimited evenings and during the leagues, all these game options and features are offered.

The site

Laser Quest has no available parking, access to people with reduced mobility is difficult because it is on the 2nd floor in downtown Montreal. The tiny entrance where everyone gathers is like a waiting room and there are no televisions or food available on site.

At BoulZeye between two games, why not grab a bite at our snack bar while comfortably sitting, play a game of bowling or billiards, watch a video or a hockey game on our 25-feet-wide screens (you read that right, feet not inches!). We have beautiful and large reception rooms available for birthday celebrations. Oh, and all the attractions are available without going up one stair and we have a 110-space parking area right at the door… the driver will be happy to come in with the rest of the group instead of 30 minutes later!

Comparison between BoulZeye and Laval laser tag

The BoulZeye is an ultra modern entertainment center with many attractions of the highest quality. Our laser tag game differs in several ways from what the Laser Tag in Laval has to offer.

Star Wars themed arena (the origin of the concept of Laser Tag)

The Laval Laser Tag arena is a labyrinth of plywood and was painted nearly 20 years ago. The biggest disadvantage of a labyrinth arena is that players have very few strategy options (moving forward or backward), so many spend the entire game in a corner and that’s not very exciting. Plywood maze arenas like Laval’s Laser Tag, in addition to offering little visibility (going long minutes looking for someone), often causes severe and dangerous collisions when turning a corner or when a player is caught between two opponents. Finally, several players have had splinters from brushing against the plywood panel corners.

Multiple Options of Laser tag games at BoulZeye

At BoulZeye, we offer the largest number of different games and options. Whether individual or as team, with an unlimited number of shots, games with bases to defend and attack, options for additional features such as spy mode, the machine gun mode, the energizing mode etc. During our unlimited evenings and during the leagues, all these game options and features are offered.

The Laser Tag site makes a difference

The Laser Tag in Laval is located in the basement of a shopping center, which means you must exit the mall in order to reach the parking lot. Since the laser tag area is in the basement, access for people with reduced mobility is difficult. The crowded entrance where everyone gathers is like a waiting room.

At BoulZeye between two games, why not grab a bite at our snack bar while comfortably sitting, play a game of bowling or billiards, watch a video or a hockey game on our 25-feet-wide screens (you read that right, feet not inches!). Oh, and all the attractions are available without going up one stair and we have a 110-space parking area right at the door… the driver will be happy to come in with the rest of the group instead of 30 minutes later! Parents will be happy to hear that our center occupies 100% of the building, so unlike the one in Laval, in terms of security, you would not have to worry about your children loitering and wandering in the shopping center awaiting your arrival.

Comparison between BoulZeye Laser Tag and the Montreal downtown Laser Tag establishment.

Not only is BoulZeye one of the most recent Laser Tag centers to open in Montreal, but our complex houses a billiards zone (for adults), the coolest bowling lanes in Canada and a huge private reception hall. We were finalist as Montreal Tourism 2015 Attraction, winner of Montreal Tourism Young Professional of the year and finalist of the Montreal East Chamber of Commerce for retail business in 2015.

What distinguishes us from the other downtown Montreal Laser Tag center?

Equipment that enhances the Laser Tag game experience in Montreal.

Lasertron-laser-tag-vestWe use the latest state of the art vests by Lasertron. The lightweight athletic designed vests are very bright, thanks to the illuminated LED lights embedded in the vest. The attached realistic sized laser tag gun ‘’phaser’’ offers not only the look and feel of a great looking two handed laser tag gun but also provides a clear view of other players. The front of the gun are designed with safety in mind, with molded foam (protective glove) to prevent any bruises in case of two-player interaction. Add the brilliant red or green Laser Beam, and a second button that enables the rapid-fire mode, you’re ready for action.

Contrary to other Laser Tag vests, which are dimly lit and have no speakers, our vests keep you in the game. The home base sound system provides the creepy sound effects and general announcements keeping players constantly informed about the game. The vest’s shoulder mounted integrated MP3 high-quality sound speakers informs each player of their individual success: successful hits, when your OK to tag again, activation of special personal game modes features and yes, the ultimate message ‘’highest score’’. BoulZeye took care of translating all vest commands and announcements in French, so the group has the choice on preferred languages when playing.
Besides the built-in speakers, each vest has individual directional vibrators allowing players to know from which direction they are being tagged.

Offering different game strategies in our Laser Tag Arena

No labyrinth Laser Tag to limit your pleasure:

DSC_0105 We decided to stay away from the painted plywood labyrinth type of game area.
The biggest disadvantage of a labyrinth arena is that players have very few movement strategy options (moving forward or backward), so many spend the entire game in a corner and that’s not very exciting.
Our arena inspired by space and planets is filled with a multitude of circular semi-rigid plastic obstacles. Housed in a two-story Laser Tag arena, it offers action from all directions, so very little rest time.

Safety and great looks are found at the BoulZeye Laser Tag arena.

At the Montreal BoulZeye Laser tag, our arena floors are covered with a quality carpet, cleaned weekly. The comfort is so great that women take off their shoes to play in their socks. The acoustics are incredible. We use the brightest black lights on the market, not just to enhance the science fiction look, but it also ensures the younger ones are able to see clearly see their neighbors. The plastic obstacles are not likely to give you splinters, nor nylon runs.

Game selection with team building advantages

Party des Huppé au BoulZeye le 3 janvier 2014
Party des Huppé au BoulZeye le 3 janvier 2014

Other than the individual and team games with an unlimited number of shots, we have the perfect game as a team building activity: four towers with targets are set up in the arena where teams need to both protect their home base as well as quickly build attack strategies to surprise the opponent and achieve maximum points by tagging their tower. It’s no longer a game, but a mission.

During our unlimited evenings, additional features such as spy mode, the machine gun mode,
the energizing mode, etc. can be engaged to spice up the games.

Conveniently located for easy access:

Downtown parking can be an issue depending on availability. Located in Montreal’s East end, we are easily accessible by the major highways in Montreal, the south shore as well as Laval. People with reduced mobility have both easy access to the site and can easily play with their friends or family. All the attractions are available without going up one stair and we have a 110-space parking area right at the door. Your car driver will be happy to come in with the rest of the group, instead of 30 minutes later!

Parents don’t get stuck in the lobby:

Once the kids are off on their Laser Tag games, parents can hang out or grab a bite at our snack bar while comfortably sitting, play a game of bowling or enjoy a drink at one of our 3 bars, play a game of billiards, watch a video or a hockey game on our 25-feet-wide screens (you read that right, feet not inches!). We also have beautiful and large reception room available for special occasions.

Bring your photo camera or GoPro.

We do not have restrictions on players taking pictures while they are playing. Though you may not have the highest score, you get to save the memories of your group in action. We also permit strapping a GoPro camera, so you have a point of view video of the experience.
